Girl Interrupted

Met this chic girl over the weekend and didn't think

it would leave a thought in my mind

that would stick over a span of only 2 days.

I would leave that up to the imagination for a later haze.

It was her birthday. Told her happy birthday!

She drank shots. Lots and lots.

Gets freaken drunk, don’t know how much.

But she sings shots, shots, shots, shots!

And then takes another shot of vodka.

Now, she is too hot for ya.

That was the kicker. Someone please lick her!

Laughing my ass off, she feels sick in the car already.

Driving downtown to the city of dreams to celebrate her day with friends,

She feels like throwing up, in Adam’s so called mercedes benz.

Finding for parking lot and missing turns,

brewed the sickness of her drunkenness concernz.

Finally parked, and the guy holding the bag for her from the start,

Me.

She felt good right after and partied on hard as could be,

but didn't drink again, except for water. Right on homie.

Girl, now you can do the twirl.

Drinking Budweiser, my fave,

Feeling tipsy for my age, girls in bikini dancing on stage,

I joined the parade and ready to engage.

It’s raining beads and pearls.

I swear, I did the outline of a sexy coke bottle to one of them girls.

It could be a dance show... who freaken knows.

That was my highlight.

But it was her night.

Dressed to impress, the glare of flashing lights.

Next day, lazy as hell.

Got out of bed and almost fell.

Looked in the mirror and smiled,

Another mild story to tell.

Texted me back one night,

She wanting me to join her with friends at another venue.

Budweiser, I guess that’s what is on the menu.

Looked up at the stars and the moon was bright. I said all right.

Thinking nothing out of the ordinary,

It only gets extraordinary.

Where is the end to this f*cken story? This is just a visionary....

Showed up, hung out, drank and socialized.

Saw her eyes, I was mesmerized.

Deciding not to dance, I guess I was brought in to the dance floor

By my friend budlight. It was a drinking galore.

Friendly as could be, for all to see,

Put on some moves, talked and laughed, bump and grind,

Holding of some hands, wherever it lands,

No not that kind.

And the moment was tight.

Next day, sunday morning, badass morning.

We texting like crazy. Not really, but my wrist says ‘jersi baby’.

I’m telling you girl its not my favorite story,

but tomorrow's news will go down in everyone's memory.

1nce a week this stuff seems to happen.

It starts small, and then grows.

I see it everyday, and when the

weekend comes, good luck, it does not

get done. It isn't bad to do it. It's just the

idea of having to deal with it.

I guess I would rather walk the earth bare

not knowing we are bare. Why eve.. why did you do it?

Now I have to iron you after

being washed, worse part of the job.

...Need to figure out a way to have laundry

do the ironing for us. Wrinkleless shirts and shorts,

never seem to work. damn I need to do my laundry.

What's on your mind?

The human brain is designed to think. Designed to think about the zillion things in the world, from the little stuff of who cares, to the big things that many of us do care, but wouldn't want to deal with.

What’s on your mind right now? On any day, you could be thinking randomly about how much stuff needs to be done or taken care off before 5pm.

Who made 5pm a deadline anyway? Maybe it’s based on the theory of what the human body could take on a day to day basis, which is only working 8 hours a day. Some businesses end at 5pm, the work is done for tomorrow and that’s what society thinks. Other time zones are still working after 5pm and some businesses are 24-7. Does this mean they get ahead of everybody? Not really.

Anyway, when you think about being busy and something out of the blue just pops up in your head, something meaningful that will take you away of whatever is important your doing. Then you reminisce and smile, and later, look at your very important work that needs to be out by 5pm. Suddenly, this important work isn't that very important after all. It is just another project that needs to be taken care of at the end of the day. And when it is not in time, nobody will die from it, the hours will still move on and people will still smile.

During your thought process, when you were so busy to the time you thought about something off topic and really enjoyed that timeframe of memory, who were you thinking off? You’re loved ones, friends, events, important days, or years ago from childhood, or randomly someone you don't care about and you thought about them, weird?! Do you feel thinking about this either sets your mood going forward to be more excited, work efficient, or less stressed. Maybe force you to be depressed, have attitudes such as anger, or just plain quiet that does not want to be bothered.

Thinking of thoughts, what am I thinking right now... sounds of water, traveling, beach, woman in bikinis, men in Speedos, and beer. All sounds good, except men in Speedos.

Right now, lunch has arrived. Thinking while I eat, what will I do when the weekend comes?

A few seconds later... I'm thinking of ice cream.

And then...right about now, a split second later... I'm thinking of my father and mother. This seems to stick and linger for a bit as I stare at a water bottle.

Maybe the water bottle is trying to tell me something. The word 'clear' comes to mind. Clear... clear what, Is it clear to me that my parents wanted me to be close by and take care of them.

It becomes cozy and yet a bit emotional, but I'm thinking about them in a good way at this moment. I don't see them daily. I either write or talk to them by technology.

I see them happy, that’s all I need to think about for now.

Life's Soundtrack

Music come and goes in a playlist, just like recyclables of CD’s being left to sit in the car and never be played again. Music does become an annoyance to your eardrum. When a jam (song) gets its chance to make it through the first 10 seconds on your music player, your eardrum decides whether it is the right hit for this moment in time. Remember that playlist you had for some special occasion, you had vanilla ice and the ice ice baby song makes your head sway side to side…to add a little extra it makes you want to do the running man for some reason, then bust out the roger rabbit foot work. Cracks me up, can you still do the dance? Yes I can! And then skip to the next track and you got the MC hammer mix making you jump up and 2 legitting everyone in front of you. Haha, that was 5th grade to my memory. And then there are some that are classics and once a week would be played to its full length and be sung with passion, those songs never get old. Finally, others would be played everyday as a soundtrack to your morning for strength, motivation, and meaning to your day, mine was 1st of the month by bone thugs.

Whatever soundtrack you pick, it becomes the right combination of tunes that you feel is the soundtrack to your life without ever regretting that it is played, and not once thought about skipping the track to move on to the next one. If you thought about the many songs that came and gone through your existence, what would be your top 10 or 20 choices that would make up your playlist as to the soundtrack of your life till now.

Example:

Don’t you think it will be fun to recall the old memories from those tunes once it is played, like remembering the time you got dumped and this love song helped you regain
your sanity to move on and be a better person that will never be dumped again.

As you listen to your soundtrack on the go or to whatever tasks you are doing, does it only seems so perfect that you are invincible and nothing can stop you. That’s if when the music stops and then you are back to reality of the sounds of traffic, cell phone rings, people laughing and talking, or even talking about you.

Would you think the only track that brings joy and family memories that would stick in your mind for a long time to come is the happy birthday song? It’s not the best head banging song available, unless some idiot makes an auto-tune version of it and then it becomes a fad for a bit and then a recyclable. Does it bring back all the birthdays and celebrations you’ve been to and the only time it gets played, is when a dozen kids or people sing it to their voices, then we know who the true karaoke singers are! Classic.

The soundtrack to your life, so many, but yet only one that could bring you back to the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s like a kid again… It’s your birthday song, and you can eat your cake with it too.

Take a Dive

You heard the song "Under the Sea" by Sebastian, the ever so worried red head crab from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Well it is somewhat true that beneath the waters of the ocean floor, the seaweed grass seems to be greener even though there isn't much sunlight to shine. Maybe it’s because the deep blue colors reflect light to give illuminating sunlight to blue life under the sea. The colorful world of species and corals all blend in with life under the sea to give it an aura effect. The calmness of underwater effects would make any human feel free from their own nature of living, which is away from the nosiness above the surface. Under the sea, experience your self floating in the midst of tranquility, hearing your heart beating and your lungs breathing with the unexpected fear of being under water. The slow motions of everything beneath and around you leave your mind to start having an intervention with itself such as thinking about the fascination of your life underwater compared to after you get out of the water. Would it be clear that everything above the water is in agreement with each other? Like life in general, like right now.

Put aside everything that you think matters to you, and take a dive and feel the rush of water bubbles tickling upon your skin. Whether it is in your backyard pool or the beach, immerse yourself away for minutes, or however long you think you could hold your breath for. See a difference on how your life is at the moment underwater for a few seconds compared to standing out of the water. Being underwater may not change the person you are, but it could change your mindset to thinking the way you live your life of how you want it to be. As a reason that is stated in the good book of God, water cleanses the soul. It feels like being baptized all over again. Now, some of us could never remember themselves getting baptized at such a young age. All we could see was pictures of the event. Would you think that this is the reason why when we jump into the water it feels like we had been here before we were born? Water seems to give us some flashback that we belong together because we were touched by it even before birth. The feeling makes it look like we are being reborn again right when we start to make that journey back to the top of the crescent and splash upwards. The last thing is to blow out a little air from your nose to catch the first breath of your new mindset going forward. Inhale and exhale a huge breath of air. Refreshing!

The Weak in Progress

The week is going by much faster. By the time you know, it is your birthday! Feeling older yet?
The week really depends on the person's daily perspective of life on what is fast or slow. Living life faster only seems fast if you feel busy enough to wear and tear yourself at the end of the week. Most people phrase this lifestyle as, 'living life in the fastlane'. Although, it does not mean you are riding a ferrari or lambourgini going 110 mile per hour in the fast lane.
In the prefrontal cortex of the brain, life would seem fast if you worked like a dog 24-7, and partied like a cheetah with your body moving at a faster pace by scorching yourself with alchohol shots every night. A faster lifestyle could be putting your life on a schedule to follow every week. Living the glamorous life of a 'normal lifestyle' would help that perspective because your always on-call from agents, clients, kids and friends demanding you to be at a location at a certain time.
Not knowing, that the hours of the world stays the same and it does not go any faster or slower. It's all in your head on how you percieve the world to be revolving around your life in time at that moment. Living the slow life of reading a novel is not really slow either. You could be waking up early every morning, making coffee, checking the mail or email, and be happy that someone has called you to say hi as the highlight of a fast day. But if you do this every week times four, a new month comes along and your life is feeling slower than your kids.
When the weekend hits, you reflect on your week thinking about the past on how did you do such as: For men, did I miss a deadline, I talked to this girl at the bar and she didn't want to go out, etc... For women, anything goes as long as it is faster, was said and done (not an expert in womens' thoughts).
The progress of the week depends on the mind and body. Feeling energetic takes you to new heights and allows you to accomplish your goals faster. Feeling weak or having a depressing mindset leaves you to progress no more than pulling out your gray hair at the end of the week.
Hmm... got to get a faster car!

June 2010 is a good month to begin thinking to ourselves, 'make some extra money for the holidays'. Working 8 to 5 is not cutting edge enough to fulfill a satisfied life of having internet available to stay on blogspot.
I go on an expedition in my kitchen table to draw up a plan.
Here is my resolution to a non-problem: I will sit and wait for the days to come by while working and consulting with myself on a blank 8'x11" paper. Then I draw one line, some scribbles, and a few inspiring words, and then crumple the paper. That was the end of trying to create something new for myself and another lingering idea that has just left my mind for now. So on to the next idea that is still pushing my mind to do something that the body doesn't really want to do. Minutes later, I set a new layer of paper and a pen in hand. Didn't I just let go of this idea and wanting to create a new piece? The idea hasn't left the building. I'm sure this happens to most of us with a great idea, but will often never get to accomplish.
And therefore, the sleepless nights begin. I figure thats why in the morning some people have issues when someone says hi, how you doing? Don't talk to me!

Wake up and smell the coffee

2010, we are at the halfway mark of the year. What have I done so far to improve/better myself or accomplish the many wanted tasks of what I stated at the start of the New Year? My once a week resolution list to accomplish something every week as a way to get closer to my goals have become a stack of pile in the back of my mind. Still planning and saying to myself, "I need to finish this and that". Procastination or just being lazy, or maybe just tired of work so when the weekend comes I look forward to finish nothing, and needing more to replenish myself from the exhausting week. The only thing moving forward is the penny jar. It grows every week by a penny to pay off a wholesome debt. The number one New Year resolution that most people have is to get out of debt. I'm fullfiling that goal by not feeling guilty donating a penny at every grocery store's donation jar and coining my jar. On the other hand, what have I lost over the year that needs to be replaced or needing to regain connection too?
I ask myself as another day, week, month, or year goes on and another birthday goes by, what have I improved from the last time around when I looked at myself in someone else's eyes. Ask yourself, or I ask myself are you/me still the same person agewise, attitudewise, and actionwise?
I think so, but ask someone who knows you personally... maybe only 50%. It's June, half way through the year. Got to do something about it.

My unedited story

Sunday night me, yuko and ryan drove to visit min's kids at vancouver wa, drank and hung out with coreen and jon..a funny family. We might BBQ on friday over there also, ryan’s birthday coming up too. Yesterday did overtime, and got only one day to gather my thoughts and rejuvenate with yuko, so got to make it memorable. Every day off I wake up early, very unusual, maybe an instinct just to get the day started...it has been a few days now that the dishes been staring at me, wanting to be soaped, and last night couldn't sleep because that needed to be done. Also the trash was another issue. 8:00am came and it felt good to take care of business. In the process, I remembered the days of sisters and brothers doing these simple house chores of taking the trash out and washing dishes every day, simple enough it shouldn't be overlooked for more than a day, it says a lot about how we live. Moving on, due to less time chilling with my girl and ryan, I asked if they wanted to watch the new movie 'angels and demons' after work. We were 10 minutes late, but movie turned out to be worth watching, a lot of things could be explained or talked about this movie, but it’s just a movie. Also it makes you want to study more or read up on the whole history of the Vatican. Going back to my morning, I finally took the time to browse through my fridge. Those peaches are really starting to look sad. Can’t eat them all at once, so a man, a can, and a plan. I baked peaches with sugar and topped it off with cool whip. Hey what you know yuko ate them. Delish! No thanks yuko, I’m not hungry. After a fruity breakfast, watched another movie that yuko had itched to watch for a while now. Ever heard of it…. He’s just not that into to you. I would say it is a good movie that may hit the heart and wanted to know which part or story was the best or likeable. Besides seeing johansen’s boobs, maybe jen and ben’s part would hit home, the nice guy story. Because I’m a nice guy.

Fresh meat

Ryan's girlfriend's mom provided him with a big catch from the coast of Oregon, didn't know they had tuna available. From some reports made on over fishing in the Northwest, we are safe to say that there are still a bounty full of tuna out there and that there is no need to worry about tuna shortage. So lets proceed and enjoy this catch. First things first, do you remember how to fillet tuna, we asked. Yeaaa! Once a filley'er always a filley'er.
Fifteen minutes later, we got a month worth of fish meat. Fried tuna, sashimi, tuna bone soup, tuna salad?? the list goes on...

Took a 5ive hour drive to Walla Walla, Washington from Portland to visit my older sister Min, and on the way I always took the time to stop by the most famous waterfalls in Oregon, the Multnomah Falls. Whether if it is sunny or rainy, just the sound of listening to falling water
makes me feel like I've been cleansed and that all the stress in life has gone away, at least for a moment until I start driving again. The cold small mist of water hitting your face, do you feel it? That's the shit I'm talking about. I took a few pictures thinking to myself, as if I really need more Multnomah falls pictures. I already have a collection of old Multnomah pictures on file every time I drive by, but this one... this picture has a story to it. All the other photos was great and memorable. I was always with someone or traveling with family when taking a trip to the falls. In this trip, for the first time, I drove by myself and visited the falls by myself. It was like who would do this by themself, like I was a loner looking for excitement. And after taking a few pictures of the falls, I felt I needed to take my picture with the falls. So nobody was in site and I waited less than 5ive minutes until I saw a hiker hiking down the slopes to quietly pretend that I am a tourist and ask her to take my photo. It was embarrasing to ask and also embarrasing after she took my photo. She probably thought, that guy is weird... The photo turned out pretty nice, and when I showed the photo to my brother Ryan and gf Yuko, all they said about me doing this is, "What for? You weirdo." or "Nice picture, but yes it was weird." I laugh to myself when I did that, something out of my norm to act touristy and weird.

Zarconians? Never heard of it.

Diamonds caught my eye as I was passing by a jewelry gallery with my girlfriend Yuko at a shopping mall. The sparkling diamonds was pretty nice and unbelievably blinding, but what attracted me more was the selling price that had been labeled on each 1 and 2 carat diamonds. Ranging from a thousand to two thousand dollars, it made me think a bit more about diamonds. Seriously, with the economy to its knees, possibly striving, these vibrant expensive diamonds in the world is now somewhat almost affordable to an average customer?

Let's go inside and investigate a bit more about these special diamonds that are on display. I'm not sure if this is true to many, but I think by nature there is always a fear or tension in entering any jewelry store because you know first hand that the diamonds are too much to afford unless you are already confident about getting engaged. Secondly, not being prepared or having a bit knowledge about diamonds and rings. Anyway, I walked in and the saleswoman was from a mideastern decent and the look of her eyes, I knew I'm being sized up. No commission here woman just browsing! I say let me see those two diamond rings that are out on display. And surely enough they are beautiful. Hey Yuko, I called. Try these on. Do they fit and whats your size?

I asked a simple question to the saleswoman, does this diamond have a specific color. She replied, these rings are cubic zarconian. Cubic what? So you mean they are not diamonds! Wow to myself being a bit confused. Saleswoman told me nobody would know the difference, but Yuko knew, she is smart about diamonds. I was like what do you mean, these are fake? But they cost a thousand dollars.... My next question, whats the difference between a zarconian and a diamond? The saleswoman replied, whats the difference? And she went off laughing, AH huh huh huh!
Me trying to get the joke: huh huh.... but wanted to understand more of why zarconians are priced at what it was. Saleswoman replied while still laughing loudly, it's a zarconian and this is a diamond, diamonds cost a few more thousands and that you have to save up to tens of thousands if you need to buy one. So i got the joke, they are selling zarconians for a few thousands (way over priced) and that a diamond costs unanimously more.

She was still laughing and said I will never forget this day to her boss who walks right in. All I know is that I am happy that I made her laugh because she probably stood all day in a quiet atmosphere and finally, came along a unique customer that exposed her weakness.

Snowboarding

It was the first of a sunny Wednesday for Feburary and it happened to be my day off too. I felt like I didn't want to sit around again on this weekday staring at the rain or snow falling down from my window apartment. I thought to myself and with a lot of motivation from my accomplice here, why not drive somewhere where we can view the whole city. This drive only took 15 minutes to get downtown and after half an hour of trying to find a higher ground, there were too many trees in sight to enjoy the scenary of this city. On the drive we took a snapshot of Mt. Hood, which is about an hour and a half drive from wherever we are. It is cold anyway and there is really nothing to do except the usual, such as go out, drive around, eat at a restaurant, get sundaes, and window shop at malls. If only we could combine this whole routine and sum up how much we spend on doing the things we do, I could only imagine on how much that would cost to go somewhere crazy, fun, and thrilling....Hmmm that mountain looks pretty nice, I wish I was home again and could drive up to Mt. Tapotchao to view the whole island. *Light bulb* why not snowboarding, worth the cost that I did on spending for food and ice cream. With little research and planning, we dressed warm and drove off to a wonderful world of OZ, snow I mean.
From renting our gears to actually riding to the top of a small hill, now what. No instructors in sight, but what the hell, we only learn as we stumble down. At 15mph, falling down on snow isn't like laying on your bed, I happen to sprain my wrist and felt like the second or third try, I'm ready for the big hill. And away we did, the slowest of the snowboarders weaving through powder as all the excellente Shaun White snowboarders passed us by yelling gnarly doood. On my journey down, turned my head to see where is my partner in crime, and a second later, eat snow!

Looking forward to a good drink

There is nothing better than knowing when Friday is over, its the weekend and you look forward to enjoying whatever you had missed on the weekdays, mostly venting and relaxing once again until Mondays roles around. One thing you might want to add to your list for the weekend that will probably make you feel like not caring about anything at the moment is grabbing a good cold beer and sitting in your favorite chair while listening to baby blue by Kapena on your cd player. Instead of drinking one of your favorite beers, I suggest trying rather something new out of the ordinary. Corona, Heineken, and Bud light is pretty common for beer drinkers. And who can't forget the king of all beers Budweiser, really? I like Budweiser and growing up it was like the only beer you drank because every one of your peers drank it and you didn't want to be the outcast of the group by drinking something different. Well its your weekend, try something like Asahi dry, or may I suggest Widmer Heffewiezen. It is a wheat beer that has a smooth lemon taste and you don't actually have to cut the lemon this time like you always do for your Corona. I don't mean to get drunk, just one beer would do the trick.

New year experience

Portland is one of the last places in the world to celebrate the New Years other than Hawaii. After watching everybody scream happy New Year, it was finally my turn to do so. Instead of celebrating a rainy New Year in Portland, I drove down to Seattle, Wa and watched the fireworks since Portland is lame, they didn't have any fireworks. Here is some pictures I want to share with all.

Snow in Portland

Woke up this morning at 8:00am, and saw a winter wonderland outside my apartment window. Great, it finally snowed in Portland, Oregon. Decided to take some pictures to show you since its not an everyday thing that snow drops out of the sky during Christmas season on Saipan. Now I have to get ready soon for work and get on the road early so I can catch the morning traffic to endure a long 30 minute drive while speeding at only 25mph. Better safe than sorry. On my journey while gripping the wheel tighly with two hands due to high winds that could swerve my vehicle in the wrong direction, I saw two accidents that has taken place. Tow trucks, police lights, and an ambulance has arrived at the scene. Pretty typical for a snowy day. First thing that came to my mind was, glad it wasn't me. Then second thing on my mind was do they have car insurance because that sucks and it will cost a lot for a car repair. Oh well, making snow angels are always fun, but driving in snow is never a favorite for anybody. So to be random, if there is one thing that I learned when driving in Saipan, its stay away from telephone/power poles and don't drink and drive.

D.I.Y. -lighting feature on your digital camera

Besides shooting breathtaking pictures on your digital camera, have ever wondered what else this expensive device could do compared to the once cheap disposable kodak cameras, which is probably now fifteen to twenty some dollars at your local retail stores. I was playing with my digital camera settings and read about the macro part of taking photos with a high resolution mode. Some settings may differ on your camera, but here is a few steps to create whatever image you have in mind. When taking a picture, switch the mode to macro, the one with the M on it. Set the ISO level to 100 and the shutter speed to the highest possible level, ex: 1 to 15 (If I have lost you, then refer to your manual). Next, set your room settings to dark, ex: switch off your lights lol. While taking a picture, you have about 15 seconds to create your masterpiece. You may need any type of LED light to create the effects. After 15 seconds or so, your camera will click and the picture is taken. Fun stuff!

A comment relating to posts from Road-blocks on the Saipanda issue:

Read Road-blocks if you want to.

From a marketing stand point, the Saipanda mascot is a great figure in relating to tourists for generating revenue for the CNMI’s economy. Now when the campaign took off in 2000, just like anybody else in Saipan, I did not understand the concept except that the name matched with Saipan (more info on Saipanda). I was one of the others who thought that this was a joke and should portray the sea turtle or coconut crab as a mascot, but not sure if this would relate or appeal to tourists from a marketing aspect. Also, not sure if a fanihi would probably scare tourists away, but I did think about this as a mascot too. Hmmm… If only we were open minded to how we could market our islands and think outside the box rather than sticking to what we know as Saipanda “a figure of jack in the box”. Some also gave Saipanda a local name "Pikaru" to try and convince themselves that we could accept this mascot, but then again, not sure how many viewed it as a sure thing. I would like to see an educating subject in Saipan Tribune or Marianas Variety if possible for others to know what Saipanda has grown into, what it has generated for the CNMI, and what the world thinks about it, instead of misc. news such as neighbors threatening each other with a machete (In other news Issue 1, Issue 2, Issue 3). Every body talks about tourism for the economy yet some negate the Saipanda figure that is intended for this reason. Lets take a survey, bota bota! How many of you think Saipanda should stay or go based on what you know? If Saipanda is still bringing home the bacon for the CNMI, I say stay.

Party season

Once again it is Monday and the day begins with brushing your teeth and getting ready for school, work, or running errands that was put off on Sunday. A week is going by faster day by day and as you noticed, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas is only months away. Party season is on the way, or must I say spending season, hooray. For this reasons we all must be thinking on whether we should budget our savings or celebrate the wonderful holidays. Tough call, but I think we should wait till Friday comes along and celebrate our happy hour with friends to let things sink in and then take a minute to rethink on what you have accomplished so far in the past week. A lot I bet. I watched too many baseball playoffs and NFL games this last weekend, and it only prepared me to be more prepared to watch more games. Anyway, I have plans to celebrate the holidays as always, and my plan begins with a song that makes you go hmmm. What does your playlist say about your mood on the upcoming holidays?
